Question on Aged New sanding belts?

Found a guy on Craigslist who has 48 sears brand belts for my 1x42 sander. The package states they're for both metal and wood. They are still new in the package, but he said they're at least 10 years old. He's selling them for $0.80 each. Are they worth looking at? Anyone ever pick up some old belts and have luck with them? I'm worried about the adhesive holding the belt together. Can I just glue them back together if it comes apart?

I bought some old belts a while back. I found the adhesive did fail quicker than expected but they were cheap so i didn't care too much. You can get a little more milage by coating the seam with duct tape
