I've got AWT scales for a griptilian and for a pm3. They are not the most grippy textures out there but I would say that it's fairly adequate for normal day to day use. My hands get pretty sweaty and the AWT scales have not slipped on me. They're a great product.
I have a set of AWT anodized scales on my Benchmade Redoubt and they are sort of smooth but they do have a small bit of traction from the slightly powdery, grippy feel from the anodized coating. Mine also have machined contours that help with grip! I have no problem at all with my grip feeling secure and solid.
my gen 3 combat troodon is smooth as glass and i really don't like it that smooth. id prefer the finish to be chalky and have some texture like the finish on most AR hand guards.
