Just picked this one up that has micarta scales and is a 3-line no dot. I haven't seen many but the 112's I've seen with micarta scales were inverted 2-liners. What years were this produced and were many made? Any help would be appreciated. :) Thanks!!

This fella asked to be added to the thread because he likes Buck knives, especially the 112.

It's a category II version 1. You can review the Ranger timeline in the sticky at the top off this forum. The Ranger went thru a lot of minor changes rapidly in the beginning.

There is a sticky with 112 data in the group at the top of the forum.

Yours would be a 1972 Category 2 Version 1. As for how many were made like yours, I'm going to guess "lots", but cant narrow it down any further...

Looks like someone did not like the way Buck ground the blades back then. It did make them harder to sharpen, sometimes.

They were ground thick near the edge. A modified hollow grind. It should cut better now. Did you get the sheath with it? DM
