Question on Bucklite 422s with 112 blades

Since I collect 112s, I thought I'd look into the Bucklite 422s that have 112 blades. Now, I know that if someone sent in a 422 to be rebladed, it could come back with a 112 blade in it. But, I have 3 422s (orange, black, and OD green) that have 112 blades and appear to have new handles. It appears that they were built that way. They also are all dated 2000. I've also seen other people post 422s with 112 blades that are also from 2000. Since my understanding is the the 422 was discontinued in 1995, how is it that they are made in 2000? Did Buck revive the model for sale in the factory store or something?

Also, I have a 422 with a 2011 422 blade on it where the box is dated 2023. How did that happen?

I don't have a lot of exposure to 422s. It seems like, in this model. there must have been parts laying around and perhaps various builds were made to use up the parts.

Yes, it can be confusing. I have read in this forum that Buck didn't throw any parts away. Build outs were a way of using up those parts that could fit together. I suspect that what you have are similar to that process. Most of the build outs referenced in the 'sticky' are higher priced parts(more desirable) put together that warranted(profitable) putting the effort into listing on their site. Just my SWAG.

Yes, I am trying to figure out the scenario for the 2011 422 example. It seems they made a batch of 422 blades in 2011, for some reason. So someone found those blades and extra handles and built them out in 2023. Or they made more handles to use up the 2011 blades.

For the 112 examples, they must have found a bunch of handles and then fitted them with 112 blades in 2000.

I also have one of the Bucklite 422’s from 2000 with a 112 blade. I have no idea about how it came to be, I’ve owned it maybe 12 years +/-. OH

the strange thing is that they seem to all have been from 2000 (unless someone had one re-bladed)

They were listed as old (factory find) handles loaded with new blades.
I have the 422 and the 424 with a 501 blade. Got mine at a large site that doesn't sponsor here.

It's interesting to me because I recently bought a 422 with a 422 blade with what looks to me to be a 2012 date stamp.
