I know that it is recommended to use the CRK fluorinated grease for lube on the Sebbie, but what else can I use on it for maintenance, rust protection?

Can I use Metal-Glo polish on the blade? Soap and water on the handles? Any input is appreciated!

Thanks

The grease is kinda spendy. I'd reserve it for your Sebenza pivot only. As far as the cleaning of the knife and handle, soap and water work fine, forget the metal-glo. Make sure you dry everything. :)

Congrats on the knife! Sebs are the greatest.

I like to use a good teflon/silicone lube. But after all you bought a sebie so the crk grease might not be a bad idea, i have a tube myself. As far as cleaning, warm water and dish soap, then dry it with a nice cloth. Enjoy :)

I'm thinking that I might run my marine Tuf-Cloth on the blade as well, for added rust protection. Any opinions about that?

VW, would metalglo be alright to apply to the blade as well? Barry didn't think so.

I use a Tuf-Cloth on the blades of my Sebbies. . . .has never hurt them. :D In fact, I even wipe the slabs down with it.

Love the smell too ! :D

Use caution. . . .the aroma of Tuf-Cloth. . . .is addictive. :D

To me it is :D , but the wife REALLY hates the smell.....sometimes I take out the cloth just to annoy her. LOL

It will not hurt to wipe it down, the Militec IMO protects better and longer than tuf glide,I have tested the two side by side.
Really the S30V steel shouldn't need it,I have yet to have any rust, stains or anything on S30V.

ROTF. . . .

My old lady is the same way. :D I pop the bag open and my eyes rollback ! She wants to know who cut the cheez.

That's pretty cool. . . .a nice inhibitor. . . .and a form of retribution. . .all in one pouch :D THANKS ! :D
