Question on Case blade markings

I'm looking at buying a CV bladed sway back jack online and the pics of the main blade look like there is no date stamps on it. Looks to be just Case XX and something small under that. Maybe the CV mark. The pen blade is marked USA with model number and CV. Is this normal for the blade markings? All the other pics I see of Case knives have the x's and dots. Wasn't sure if there are fakes or anything out there. It's not really a collectible Case. Thanks

A 2009 model would have only one X and no dots under the Case XX. Could the "something small under that" be an X?

I glossed over the part where you said it was a sway back jack. I assumed it was a vintage knife prior to the date codes.

My CV SBJ is a 2009 and has an X under the Case logo. It's so small that it's barely recognizable as an X (but it's not a dot). Wilie's sounds to be the same.

Just bought a new Swayback with Chestnut bone. Its CV. Great knife just wish the springs were a tad tighter.

Here's what the 2000-2009 stamps look like, on Case's folders:

As seen, the 2000 year stamp has 5 Xs and 5 dots. For years 2001-2005, one dot is taken away for each successive year, leaving only 5 Xs in 2005. Then for 2006-2009, one X is taken for each successive year, leaving just one X left in 2009.

Thanks for all the useful info. I'll need it for the next Case I find since I got beat out of this one on auction by a $1 last minute bid. So if one of you guys got a new Swayback Jack, minus the box, for $36.05, I hope you enjoy it:D I have a strange feeling a blue swayback gent might be on its way for my birthday, but I will have to wait to see on that one. Thanks!
