What steel was Case using at this time?

i got it because it is one of my favorite patterns, is my first Case, and is from my birth year.

BTW, I plan to carry and use it.

Regards,

Jeremy

I believe that their stainless steel then was 440C....if not it was most likely 440A.

That is a nice knife. I have a '79 with delrin scales. Very handy sized pocket knife. I don't know what steel they used in '79 or '70 but mine holds an edge very well.

That's the Case '63 model "Eisenhower" pattern. I've recently been reading about them because I really wanted one in CV. I haven't seen them in anything but SS. Its supposed to measure 3 1/8" closed.
Please let me know how you like it in SS because I like the size so much
I could almost get past the SS. Thanks!

They have not made that pattern in CV since the 1940's, unless it was a recent SFO, which is doubtful since all SFO's seem to be stainless.

It is a great pattern. Up until about 1974 they also made the 06263FSSP which had a long nail file as the secondary blade in place of the pen blade.

So it was made in CV during the 40's? Okay thanks that's good to know. Now all I gotta do is find one. . .right?
