Given the option between the 503 Prince and the 505 Knight, which knife would you more likely configure and purchase on the Buck CKS website?

505 and all the 525 size and series knives those are my favorite ones to collect wish I had them all.

I really like my 503, makes a great edc pocket knife. The 505 is just a little to small for me.

The 503 is the smallest I would be interested in. Anything shorter is hard for me to get a good hold on.

Nothing beats the 501. But the 503 (and 55) may be the best size front pocket carrying knife ever. No print in pocket, not intimidating to others and just enough to hold onto for a majority of tasks. The 505 is cute though. A little love for the little one :)

Curious... seems like the 303 or 301 would be a better CKS infrastructure investment than tiny lock backs.

Seems like the demand for slip joints in the CKS would outweigh the tiny lockers?

I've carried and used a 503 for many years. Because it's used heavily, it gets stropped or sharpened daily. I would jump at the chance to upgrade to S30V or similar premium steel. In fact, I've chatted with Buck's staff a couple times suggesting they add steel upgrades to the 503 in the custom shop.

Just a little confused about this poll, since the 503 and 505 have been available in the custom knife shop for awhile now - but lacking better steel choices... Thanks for asking, Mr Hubbard!

2 weeks ago today I placed an order for a 505 from the Custom Shop so that's what I voted for. It will be a back up knife for my watch pocket so I wanted it to be small and unobtrusive.

I did consider the 503 before placing my order but I decided the 505 would be more practical for this particular application.

I certainly would not object to better steel options but it wasn't necessary for me on this order.

I agree completely. But I will admit this 55 is really almost perfect.

of the two the 503, but I dont carry and use anything smaller than a 501. prefer the 500 as well as an option.....

The 501 is as small as I go as well. I agree with MT and think the slipjoints should be considered...

A tough question for me. I gave my 505 to one of my sons and do not have a 503 (both something that needs to be rectified, one way or the other). I do have a 703 and a 709 in front of me for a rough size comparison. I would usually prefer the larger knife for a custom; however I have two of the Elk BF 301's.

I am voting for the 505 on a close one....

I think the Buck 503 is a good size pocketknife, the 505 (I do have one) is smaller than I prefer. OH

I would be curious to hear from Mr. Hubbard about Buck's plans for these knives, given the poll results. I must admit, I've been looking every day at the Custom Knife Shop hoping they've added a steel upgrade option for the 503. When/if this happens, I'll have no hesitation placing my order.

I'm not sure at this point. I'll find out.. I'll also ask about exotic steels...

I see that the 503 and 505 now have Jigged Bone options in the Custom Shop. Those look extremely attractive to me.

I'm pretty happy with the Custom Shop 503 and 505 that I already have but I don't think I can resist a Jigged Bone version.

Nice job Buck!!
