Hi fellas,

what's the best way to stop micro-cracks in cow bone? They are very fine, doubt if super glue would work. What about mineral oil, just as one does with ivory. Any advice?

Thanks,

Dave

I have used super glue on old antlers that are cracked bad from age. I coat super glue on the entire cracked surface, let dry and buff with white rouge. Also before super glue, I apply glucosamine permanganate to bring the color back to the antler. You don't have to use the GP on the cow bone, choice. You can get a bunch of super glue at harbor freight for cheap. Results, are good and the cracks are filled just like a cracked windshield to stop the cracks from getting bigger. Try it, cause it works for me. Rey
