Question on dangler sheath

Hello guys. My friend has asked me to make a sheath that uses a dangler. I want to make this look as nice as possible for him and have a couple of questions. For the size of the knife I believe a 1" to 1 1/4" d-ring will be proportionate. If I go with a 1" ring I know a 1" wide leather strap will need to be notched for the ring or I will need to use a narrower strap. Is there a rule of thumb for the strap width if I go with the narrower strap? By this I mean, 1" d-ring use 3/4" strap or 1 1/4" d-ring use 1" strap, etc. Feel free to give any advice that might help on this project. . My sheaths look better with each project thanks to the advice from BF and the posts I read on it.

Dan, I think about 1 1/4" width loop v-notched to 3/4" to 7/8" should work pretty well on either D, but I believe the 1 1/4" D will probably be the best.

Pretty much agree with Paul - if a 1 1/4" D/Ring doesn't "over weight/over balance" the package's proportions then use it otherwise I would use a smaller d-ring and v-notched wider strap. I've found the largest possible set is best for stability on such rigs
