Question on durability

I recently received a ZT 0452 in the mail. My girlfriend upon opening it, didn’t realize her water glass was in the way and it smacked into it when she opened it. Didn’t think much of it, but after looking at the blade again, it looks like the fine point isn’t quite as fine anymore. Almost bent but that’s being dramatic. Should this happen? Did I maybe purchase a counterfeit with softer steal. Damage is super minimal but you can see it and feel it with your finger running across. Probably too minimal for even a picture. Thanks for your help!

Don't be surprised if the edge on a new knife is "softer" than expected. Until you have sharpened it a fair bit, 10ish times, and are into fresh steel you can't really know what you have.

Thank you! So that’s pretty normal? My guess is a good sharpening would fix what I’m seeing. I just wasn’t sure if something that small would cause that. My expectations could be flawed.’these blades might be more delicate than I think.

Well glass is harder than steel, so a fine steel tip or edge will lose that conflict
