...How do you get rid of them???...

I've been using my Lansky w/coarse/medium/fine stones; about two minutes each per side; two repetitions...nicks are still there...25* setting...1/8" blade...

It's now very sharp...but I can still see the nicks...

The stones are definitely taking off steel...just doesn't seem to be taking off enough...

...???...

Here's a pic of me using the Lansky... --> :jerkit:

...:D ...

When you find a nick in a blade you have to sharpen one side untill you raise the wire burr, then flip over and get the wire burr on that side,

then sharpen in a normal manner to remove the burr.

There is no quick and easy way to get rid of them. You're just going to have to hog off enough steel 'til they're gone. A coarse(100-120 grit) bench stone would work well. The good thing is that you'll have a newly re-profiled "fresh" edge. The downside of course, is that you'll have less blade.

Trax, I did what Buck 110 said.I tried the lansky and could not take off
enough steel at a time, on my 119. So I tryied the coarse flat stone.
Took it off before quick. Not sure if the # is 100 ,or 120 but is very
coarse. Looks a lot better and I am happy with the edge.
Good luck with yours
Jeff
