I just purchased an Endura 4 (great knife), it replaced my 1st gen. Endura (also a great knife BTW). I noticed that the lock release has been moved back a little... (back from blade end), just wondering if anyone knows the reason for this, it makes one hand closing a little harder. The Endura 4 is a MUCH improved version, I love it alot !! Thanks Sal.

It might be to position the lock back so that there is less chance of accidentally engaging it.

Hi Chazzy,

thanx for the kind words.

We moved the lock back a bit to pick up a little more lock strength.

Why would moving the lock back further on the handle increase strength, Sal? Just curious from an intellectual standpoint.

A longer leverage arm allows us to use a stronger spring. I guess technically, it's not "stronger" in the sense that it will hold more pressure before breaking, but it does permit stronger spring pressure which assists in keeping the lock in position when greater pressure is applied.

Hope that makes sense.
