Hey, I have a quick question about the CRK one-piece line. The entire knife is made of A2 steel, so has anyone ever had issues with the handle developing rust? I'm concerned about the knurled surface rusting easily, especially on the shadow III model (which i should have by the end of this week). the sheath causes the knife to ride high on the hip, and i think it would cause the handle to be in frequent contact w/ skin (oil, sweat) while under my shirt.

Has this ever occured for anyone?

Also, does anyone know any source where I could get an aftermarket sheath for the Shadow III? I'm interested in black leather or kydex. I know about mike sastre of rivercitysheaths, but i'd rather not have to send the knife out to get molded if i don't have to.

thanks!

PiterM, a member here, makes some very, very nice kydex sheaths for CRK's. I would try to contact him. There the best I've seen. If you search the threads in the CR forum I'm sure you will come across some of his work. Good Luck with your quest.

The Kal Gard finish is pretty tough and will take a while to wear off. After that just wipe it down every night with some oil. Break Free is a good one, but just about any oil will do. As far as after market sheaths go, well, there's a few of us around that can help you.
Take care,
