Would you say the heat treat on the Kabar Beckers is as good as the Rowan heat treat on the Esee knives?

I personally believe that it is. Go over to the Becker forum and they will rave. A lot of crossover between ESEE and Becker guys due to the price point, the steel, and the overall philosophy of the respective makers. For me, ESEE rules down in the the 3", 4" arena and they have a much nicer neck knife. They are absolutely neck and neck in the 5" and 6" space. Becker then taking over the lead in the 7" and up space. This is 100% personal opinion and may not in fact be shared by anybody.

Two of my three favorite fixed blade knife brands...the third being Mora!

Both are great on HT. tough and reliable. their HT protocols are towards toughness. IMO Tops knives has the better heat treatment on 1095 due to the differential HT. you have to look more on their line of knives as their designs tends to be over the top.

Definitely agree.

I think the Rowen HT is better but some of the Becker designs are better imo. Some examples are I would take the BK16 over the ESEE 3 or 4, I would take the Izula 2 over the BK11,14, and 24, and I would take the Junglas over the BK9. Its hard to go wrong with either knife but ESEE have better fit and finish by far.
