Can anyone tell me more about this and actually on Hen & Rooster knives in general. Are they any good and what type of steel do they use? Thanks..

It's ironic that you ask this question , because I saw two offered for sale on the shop at home knife show this morning. They were asking $135.00 for the pair, a large Bowie and a smaller skinning knife (both in stag). As I listened they stressed as a main selling point the fact that both were made in Spain. I don't really know how well made the Spanish H&R's are , but I do know in general they're not as good as years ago. They never mention steel type so I guess it's a 420 SS. But I did see a few H&R's recently in the Sportsman's guide catalog listed as made in Germany. So I imagine they're made in both places. Also H&R is owned by Frost, if that matters...
Maybe someone who owns one can add to this.

The one I saw had Germany on the blade, although its made in Spain. Don't know if that means that a better steel is used??
