I recently added a Ka-Bar 1232 USA to my collection of fixed blade knives. I had had one like it when I was a kid but of course who knows what happened to it so I bought another. This one is in mint condition and has the italicized Ka-Bar tang stamp. My question is what type of steel was used on these? I think this one may be from the mid 70's and it is a booger to get an edge on it. It was completely dull (don't know if these didn't come with a decent edge when new) and not usable until I can get a good edge on it. Any info on the blade would be appreciated....
