Hi everyone, I am not new to bladeforums but am new to the HI section of it... spent most of my time snooping around in the Busse forum. I have been considering getting a khukuri for a while now to replace my machete and hatchet while in the Alaskan brush, besides that they are just down right cool. Anyway I like the M43 but after looking around could not find any in the size I am looking for, most of them are 18" and a few are smaller than that but I am looking for something around 20-21" with a 1/2" or just under spine. I was wondering if anyone knows if they are made standard in that size and if not if there is a way to get one in that size.

Thanks,
Stephen

That size is not cataloged. I have 2 one 17" approx 3/8 of a inch & the other 18" at 1/2 " . Of the two, the smaller is more handy but it is nice to have the heavy one for work. Try shooting off an email and express your idea. Anything is possible.

My main reason for liking the m43 over the ang khola is the curvature of the blade and I am normally VERY picky with my knives... and guns but that is a different topic all together, I just sent off an email as suggested so lets see what I get in response.

I have a 21 inch M43 that weighs 43oz and has a spine right around 1/2 at the thickest, so yes, they can be ordered that size. Mine is 6-7 years old.
