Question on Military serrations

I have a Military CPM 440V with a Plain edge. I had this knife customized (by a forumite)to include a small tritium capsule inside the G-10 spacer so it is visible from 3 sides. The one thing I have always wanted is a few serrations on my Military....could I send my knife to Spyderco and have them put a few serrations on it?? Do I have to buy one of the new ones with the partially serrated blade and attach it to my handle? Any help would be appreciated.

How did you mount the capsule? I've been tempted to do the same to a Gunting, the local Fishing shop sells tiny Tritium capsules to be used as Lures, or Bite Indicators, and one would fit nicely in the lanyard hole.

A forumite (NCBlades) removed the G-10 spacer then with a dremel made a spot for the capsule. He then drilled two holes into the scales and one into the backside of the spacer so when you put the knife back together the capsule will shine thru the holes. I have seen pics posted several times of users who have done the same thing try a search in this forum. I'd send you a digital picture but don't have a camera.

I would call Spyderco Warrantee and Repar and ask them. I have several times seen Sal make positive comments about Spyderco being willing to regrind blades. I know each case is different, but it certainly can't hurt to ask. ummmm.. Tell them about the customization when you talk to them - so as not to have any surprises on either end.

The nmber is 800.525.7770 ext 255 (I think thats the extension)
