I have what looks like a standard ph1, black handle, no other markings than the usual schrade + tang stamp. Never sharpened. It dosen't have a box or sheath, just the knife. What do you think this knife would bring, max on fleabay? I have plans on (when I can find the time of course) rehandling the knife with some nice wood scales (not sure on wood type yet, maybe ebony, mesquite, bocote, cherry burl or desert ironwood?) and re-installing the cutlers rivits to look like factory. Can anyone give me a rough estimate of how much it would increase, or decrease value? I'm just curious, 'cause I picked it up, but had a change of heart shortly after I purchased it, I like my ph2 better, and I could use a little cash, so I figured maybe a "customized" ph1 may be desireable? Or am I just plum off my rocker? Once again, I have confused myself ( not a hard thing to do  ) and seek the honest opinions of my fellow forumites :D
Thanks in advanced

Ratman,
The last 14 PH1's that sold on ebay went from $25 yo $50 apiece in black. Wood (maple and rosewood) went for $45 and $86 with sheaths ( the rosewood was the etched North American Hunting Club knife). Stag went for near $100. Didn't see any customs to compare with.

ea42, Thanks. Yeah, I researched ebay, however the one stag ph1 looks like a custom, I think it went for $76 or $8x. It looks like it was repinned with, peened pins, they look domed, not flat like the factory cutlers rivits. I may handle this one in stag or elk antler and sell it as an aftermarket custom, I don't know. Thanks for the help!

Ratman,
I see what you mean, there's one for sale right now with domed pins, much smaller than the flat stock pins. Doesn't look like any kind of stag Schrade ever used either.

Thanks for the link eric. That don't look like stag to me, looks more like moose antler to me. I've seen knives handled with moose antler and this is a dead ringer, I really doubt it's factory

I didn't think so either, they look too shaggy to me.
