Question on proper pronounciation douk

Was wondering how to pronounce "douk-douk"? I have two of these wonderful knives that a company sells an hour or so away from my home but was wondering if its...

-douk, sounds like "duke"? or

-douk which would rhyme with "look"? or

something entirely else?

I doubt it matters but I pronounce it to rhyme with 'spook'.

I see you're on the wrong side of Canada to encounter much French, where 'ou' is like English 'oo'. :)
 
I've always rhymed it with 'spook', but have wondered about the 'k';
I suppose we might be barking up the wrong tree since the word is not French.

I found this one on e-bay. Talk about gilding the lily! Better hurry. Closes within the day.

No need for you to be sorry. I made the mistake and am myself sorry. Hadn't really thought of it as deal spotting so much as drawing attention to a curiosity. Hope you enjoyed seeing the knife, anyway. If I can find it again, I'll repost after it is closed.

'Douk douk' is pronounced as 'dook dook' but with the 'oo' schorter than in the word 'look'. That 's the way they pronounce 'douk douk' in Thiers (France) where they are made and where I bought mine.

This is funny ;)

Although- like lobster and Roquefort, the initial reaction to this knife example's aesthetic by most people is likely pretty low (is it made out of an old soda can? soup can?). Only to then find out- lobster is amazing, Roquefort is the best, and the douk douk this post has inspired me to acquire may also prove to be as lovely. ;)
