Question on RC4 handle

I just got a RC-4 on the exchange and it has orange handles can i buy a pair of black or tan micarta's for it? and if so where? thanks
 
I enquired about getting an extra set of handle scales for my RC-4S a while back because I wanted to experiment with a bow divot...I was told extra handle scales weren't available. I'm sure one of the makers here could make you a set though. I've seen some nice custom scales here, even some that were acrylic. You can get micarta on line pretty cheap and make your own...that's what I'm thinking of doing.
 
We do not sell handle slabs separate because there is no guarantee they will fit perfect. Each set of slabs is 'married' to each knife during the manufacturing process. Also there can be minute differences in the perimeter profile from one run to the next just because the machinery set ups can slightly change. The bottom line is when the complete knife leaves the shop it is as near perfect in fit and finish as possible and we cannot send out slabs separate and expect the same fit on a knife manufactured from a different run. So the slabs fit a little off and down the road other people see this and may not have all the information and think that the bad fit is our manufacturing standard. We used to do that years ago when we were with a different company but we ran into a gazillion problems. No more. Ene a knife that has damaged handle slabs has to be sent back to the shop for a proper fit. Mike

ahhh ok thought i rememberded you could buy different slabs for the blades.
guess ill just get use to orange
