Question on sak

My question is about the Hiker model. I haven't purchased an SAK some the early 80s but I just got the Hiker, and there is no separator between the saw and the can opener? My camper from 85 has this.

The construction has changed. My late model Hiker is the same.

You’ll notice the main blade tang is a little thinner too. Neither change affects the functionality or strength of the knife.
