Question on Schrade marked sheath

Hi,

First post so I hope it's ok to ask a question.

I've been asked to ID a few knives for a friends widow and I found this knife
forum a week or two ago while searching for info on a couple of items.

I've been able to identify some of the knives from these forums but I just can't get a hit on these sheaths.

The large one is 6.5"lg x 2.38"w.
The small one is 4.13"lg x 1.88w.

They seem to have identical designs, be cut the same, and the only maker mark is what's stamped in the design.

Are these from Schrade or are they some other commercial offering?

Any insight as to what these are would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
You will find a lot of help here, and maybe even some answers.
But...
Please check your photos. It looks like you copied the same image link thrice.
I see three pics of a sheath.
Make sure you copy and paste the link for each of the pics.

Welcome to the forum. We like gun guys too!

Hi - As best as I can tell from the catalogs and price sheets

The small is SAS-14 and holds up to a 3-3/4" knife
The larger is SAS-15 and holds up to a 5" knife

I see years of '83-'85 but could have missed on that one

Real nice sheaths but have never carried with one
Looks like these guys held up just fine

They came with the Schrade Custom Made series, and they were sold separately as well. They fit the LB5 and LB7. The smaller one is perfect for a 123OT or 124UH too, which were not packaged with a sheath I believe. Not a very commonly seen sheath either.

Thanks for all the info. At least it gives me a starting point for figuring value.

I had looked in the collector-of-schrades page but I guess I didn't dig deep enough there.

Thanks again,
Tom
