Question on Sebenza Handles.

I'm getting really close to ordering a large Sebenza 21 left hand model, but in the past I've had a few all metal handled knives that were to slick. I don't care for the inlayed models, so I'm curious to hear if the stock Ti handles are textured in anyway, or smooth?

Also would like to hear from those that have both, if the Large 25 with its finger grooves has a better grip?

The slabs are blasted giving them a light textured feel.
The extra finger groove on the 25 can provide better grip, I've never really noticed a big difference in grip between the 21 vs. the 25. I don't stab things, so I really don't know
If you haven't looked at the Wilson Combat Starbenza, you need to.

They're not slick like a polished metal slab would be. I'd bet you'll be pleasantly surprised. If unsure, you can always wait for one to pop up here on the exchange and if you don't like it, resell and get most, if not all of your money back.

^That! I got a Sebenza 25 from Wilson earlier this month & I haven't carried any of my other knives since.

Im planning on the 25 next. Definitely think its the grippier option. The titanium itself feels quite nice though. More texture on the titanium than that of the Sage 2.

I have never had an issue my large classic PJ or large regular PJ . I have had the classic wet with water, blood, hydraulic fluid, etc. No problem. The light texturing from them being blasted works great. Just enough there to give them good purchase in the hand.

I have not had slickness problems with my 21; 25; nor the Umnumzaan. Good luck in your choice.

The bead blasting does provide some nice grippy texture to the slabs. I did scotch brite a 21 in the past and it was nice looking but a bit slick. I've had the 21, inlaid 21, umnumzaan, 25 and inlaid 25. I really like how the plain 25 feels in hand the best. Ymmv. Good luck with your choice. You really can't go wrong.

Well I took the plunge and did it. Could not decide between a 21 or 25, so I took the drive up to Grand Prairie Knives, about 2 hours from me, to I could handle them in person. Almost went with a 21 with micarta inlays, but really liked the plain classic 21 a little better. Handles are textured just fine.

Laughed when I got home later and saw it's "birth certificate", born the same month I was. :)

Thanks for all the feedback, the quality is just what I've always heard it was, fit and finish are just amazing.

That is the essential CRK. Great choice. The single blue stud plain Jane 21. Pure Chris Reeve genius, style, and functionality. Love it!

That is a gorgeous CRK, enjoy using it and have fun with it. Looks like another lefty has been bitten by the CRK bug. I hope you don't become too addictive and start buying up all the lefty's here. :D
I think I now have mainly left handed models in my collection.

Congrats and great choice. Glad to see another lefty CRK guy. Enjoy and use the heck out of it.

Thanks, this is my first lefty framelock, and for the first time I'm having to learn to keep my fingers off the lockbar when opening. Was never a problem when using right handed framelocks. :)

I am left handed, but carry a right handed knife. For some reason it just feels more natural. I open it with my right hand then transfer to the left. A little extra work I guess. I have always been curious about a LH Sebenza though.

This sucker is slick!

This side provides much more traction.

The CF scale is completely smooth, while the Ti scale is grippe enough, IMO.

I would've got the all Ti model if I could do it again. The CF version is 3.7 OZ, that's 1 ounce less than the full Ti version.

Nice.

Got my first surprise this morning, I had no idea if you remove the lanyard, the pin would fall out. Fortunately it did it in our living room that has beige carpet. Saw something in the floor this morning and was afraid something was off with my Sebenza, but googled and found it's normal. Glad I didn't lose the pin though!
