I just bought a Small Sebenza and was wondering which sharpener to get either the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker or the Lansky Crock sticks? And which is easier to use. I noticed on Chris reeves web site it says to use the above. Right now to sharpen my knives I use the Lansky Sharpening system find it works pretty good and easy to use also. but would want to get a better edge on my sebenza if I ever have to.

Thanks

I have a Spyderco Sharpmaker and have played with a Lansky Crock Stick sharpener (Professional). While there are differences in materials and price. . . .they both operate on the same principle/method/technique.

I purchased the Sharpmaker due to overall construction, materials, and storage.

They both get it done.

on mine I freehand sharpen it to keep it looking like it was when it was new (convex) when I hsarpen other peoples knives I tend to use the sharpmaker

Most of my sharpening for all knives is done freehand with an Eze-Lap diamond rod [1/4" dia, 4" long] a few strokes and it's back to very sharp.
