Question on sp1 variations

I've had the sp1 for some time now and picked one up as a gift for a family member. After looking at both I see a difference between them.

One is labeled OKC-USA in gold on one side and SP-1 Combat in gold on the other.

The other is labeled Spec Plus Marine SP1-95 in black on one side and Ontario USA on the other.

Are these different generations? Is one better than the other? One discontinued?

Any info is appreciated thank you.
 
I think the only difference between the two of them is that the one labeled OKC-USA is newer and the one labeled SP1-95 is older.
 
That's correct. It sounds like you have an older stamped one and a new laser engraved one. The only way it would make a big difference would be if you really like/dislike the color gold.
