Question on stacked leather handle replacement

Hey guys I'm looking in to getting a 7' fighting/utility blade for hiking and a few odd jobs around the yard and garage I'm having trouble deciding between the classic leather washer handle or the kranton moulded. I prefer to get the leather but am worried that if it wears out or spoils I'm out a knife ... So is there a way to replace the handle (through kbar or other speciality service) if it wears out?

I remember Toooj telling us that the leather handled models actually hold up very well, in some cases better than the kranton. IMHO with a little infrequent attention to TLC provided it's likely the handle would out last the original owner.
