Friends, I take this sharpener for about a year. From the very beginning of its stones were markedly curves, and had a few bumps. I did not pay attention to it. I was cleaning so as instructed. But now the rocks just in a terrible state. They became even more curves, and their surface was loose. How do I fix this? Any ideas.

Contact spyderco about it (you're talking about the spyderco sharpmaker right)
Do you have any pictures you can show us? A loose surface is very strange imo
I i
Have small bumps in one of my ultrafine rods and dont like that too

Sorry, I have no idea what you have going on there. My stones are straight, and while they feel bumpy at times, it is only noticed when I am using too much pressure. They work very well in spite of this observation.

As with most sharpening, LOW force is they key. If you can do this and get results, I would not be concerned.

If you can not get results, contact the manufacturer. They will be greater help once they personally inspect what you have...baring that (which you may have to due to shipping hassles from Russia), try posting some high res photos so we may better understand what you have going on....

khtima, are you talking about the stones being loose in the base, and rocking back and forth when you sharpen? That can be a problem. But you can wrap the end of the stones in paper to make them fit more tightly.

Friends, thank you for the advice. I will try to make the photo even though I'm not sure what I can. I do not have a good camera. I try to write to the manufacturer, but I'm not sure that he will solve this problem, I do not want to send the stones to them, it will cost you. The surface of the stone was loose and the corners considerably whittle down, the stones were originally rough. They could not hurt during transport, they left such a plant. Unfortunately I do not know much English, and perhaps the translator did not translate privilno (( correctly )) some of my words. As a result, lost a sense of what I write. I've searched in Google and noticed that many people complain about the poor quality stones spyderco triangle. I want to try to align the stones on the sandpaper, maybe it would make them a little better.
