Question on Taylor Schrade SHD1

Does anyone know anything about the quality of this knife, especially what steel it is made. It says Custom on the finger guard and has stag handles. It looks exactly like the USA Schrade d'Holder and if you think about it, If you turn the stock number around it would be DH(D'Holder), the USA Schrade designation.

Does it say made in China on the knife or packaging it came in? If it's Taylor's made in China stuff, the blade steel will be questionable (I've never gotten Taylor Brands to be specific about what steel & heat-treat procedures are used), and fit-&-finish will be hit or miss. Everything I've looked at that Taylor has brought in from China has been much lower in quality (materials & fit) than the old U.S.-made Schrade products. I'd say look for some of the old U.S.-made Schrades. You know what you're getting with those.

If Taylor is having these made domestically, then they might be okay.
