I'm thinking about getting a 14 again as it's been a few years since I last owned one. My question is which one is the strongest. I know I've seen one with a cut down tang. Did or are there full tang 14's out their. What I mean where the tang fill's the handle on both sides. Oh and the curved nickel silver guard would be nice also with a one finger or boarder patrol handle I guess while I'm building this in my head. :D Thanks,

The closest you will come to a full width tang would be an Astro. You might be overplaying the full tang as a standard model 14 tang is plenty strong.

Thanks your probably right, the 14 should be plenty stout I reckon.

There was a thread on BF years back "testing" a run-of-the-mill stainless #14 against a Busse Sarsquatch. The 14 held out better. Do a search of the forum... the OP ended up chopping cinder blocks with both knives. I mean... if you're thinking of chopping cinder blocks... maybe you need something other than a knife. ;-)

If you can break the tang on a #14, without using a lever, you must Superman,,, !!!!Frankly I can't imagine that being a concern, Bart

Hey Bart, if you're on FB, look me up under my clever nom de guerre Sheldon Wickersham - I'd like to catch up...
