Hi, I’m new on here and have a question for those who have been to the blade show. Does the show consist only of manufacturer booths, predominantly with modern knives and new designs? Or, are there private sellers also on scene selling vintage and traditional knives? I’m more interested in the latter. Of course I’m assuming the show will not be canceled. Thanks.

The show has been delayed to august as of this time. There is a huge number of custom makers who exhibit at the show, as well as the large manufacturers and retailers big and small. You'll be able to find plenty of every style of knife.

Ok thanks for the replies. From where I am located in Florida, Atlanta is less than 8 hrs driving distance away. I’m really looking forward to it. I’d love to find some custom made slip joints or rare offerings from Case that I can hand inspect before purchasing. Ebay has been the sea of regret lately.

Of course, consider that even with the date change, attendance and variety may be reduced. This year's show will be atypical regardless.

Me and my friends drive in 7 hours from LA.

Hotel rooms are easy when very close but available a couple miles out pretty easily.

There are TONS of traditional and traditional style knives. Many many purveyors who keep those in stock. Lots of other stuff also. Plenty of modern knives. I am generally a traditional person also, with a few modern exceptions, and it takes me half the day Friday and most of the day Saturday. You also get to meet plenty makers, of customs are your thing. Jim Dunlap, Luke Swenson, bubba crouch, Mike Zscherny, Tony bose all come to mind.

You won’t regret it. Normally. This year is a bit of a mess. It’s been moved and no one really knows who will be there. If you do make this year, don’t pass judgment on the whole deal.
