Question on the CMG INFINITY

Hi,

I've got a white CMG Infinity task-light, which I bought 10 months ago.
I was very happy with it, because I like it's small size and the easy replaceable (avaliabe) batterie.
But the last night it let me down. I went out and bought a fresh battery today, but if I turn the head of the light it can't be turned on as used.
I mean when I turn it on there comes a small flash, and then the light is off again when I turn a little farther.
That's not the way I expect this flashlight to function.
Even when I manage to turn it carefully on and the put the light on the top of my desk it turn's itself off.

I tried to clean the contact, but no effect.

Did you had a similar experience?
Did you solve it?

Sending it back to CMG is not real option, as this will cost nearly as much as a new light.

Thanks for your input.

I don't know what to tell you, red mag. I've had two of them, and neither gave me any trouble. I wear one on a cord around my neck when I'm out walking at night, and the weather doesn't bother it. My brother took the other one rafting. So we know they can hold up under harsh conditions.

It sounds like a contact inside is at fault, if it won't stay lit past a certain point. Could there be dirt or grease inside the threads of the cap?

I'd say buy an Arc light if you can't fix it. I gave up on my CMG. Gave it to my 3 year old son to play with.

Thanks for your answers.

I tried to clean all the contacts with balistol, maybe I should try with flitz.

I will also ask at the other forum, good hint!

My three year old daugther has already a task-light with a red bulb, but I like the idea with the ark-light. But you know I come home with a new flashlight telling my wife this will hold forever, only to come back again some months later to tell her I'll need another.....
I mean it is more important to me she understands my needing to buy a new knife every now and then. :)

I'll keep you posted.

Greetings
