Hey guys, just wanted to ask a question and it is not one meant to ruffle feathers :D. I was just wondering. Is the Elmax Mule being a AVG Rockwell of 58.5 considered soft for this steel? From reading around on Bohler's website, from what I gather 58-59 is the recommended hardness, which seems to give a good compromise of toughness and wear resistance? I have been trying to dabble some in testing edge retention, mainly with cardboard of a heavy nature. CTX-XHP Manix seemed to do very well. Anyway, what seems to be the optimal hardness for Elmax? My Mule sharpened incredibly easily as well, I like Elmax alot so far.
Thanks
Steele

Not sure where the problem is. If 58-59 is the recommended hardness for , and The MT13 is at 58.5...

No I wasn't saying there was a problem. I have been hearing good praise for Elmax at 60-61. So I was Inquirying if they chose a bit lower for tougnness sake?
