Cliff mine has little retention with the liner alone. A good shake will dislodge the knife if it's upside down.
There is a snap loop, and a quite good one at that, that keeps the knife secure. And there are a couple of grommeted holes in the cordura at the top of the sheath which the knife could be doubley secured by tieing it with some paracord.
I would think that would make the knife "jump approved", but not for sure as I don't know the military requirements for that.
The reason I believe it would be is because of the military orders Busse receives, unless of course the military gets a different sheath.
And there are some grommeted holes in the bottom to tie a restraining cord around the leg with as well.
On a personal note I think the sheath is okay for general carry and with care, compareing it to my CS Trailmaster sheath, will last a long time. I _Really_ do like the pouch on the front for carrying a smaller knife such as a folder or a multitool. And a DMT duofold can be carried along with the other tool as well and perhaps a mini Maglite, but I haven't tried that. It is a sizable pouch.
OTOH it is not the great kydex scabbard that came with my Busse Combat #9 that I bought through bladeforums when the knives first became available.
