Hi guys,
I'm mostly a lurker, but I have learned a lot from this forum and am particularly grateful that it exists. My question is whether the UMFAAN was ever made in left-hand? Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum. I believe you could have ordered one back in the day.....I'm sure some one out there has one:D

Chris D. :)

Yeah, a long time ago I had a chance to buy three of them from Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa. $300 just seemed like so much back then. Now I could just kick myself for not buying them all. I have just one, it's a little gem and it would take an awful lot of $$$ to get me to part with it!

I have a right handed one, and I LOVE it. I don't think there IS enough money to get me to part with mine!!

I just did a search on that yesterday, seems as though it is going for a design change but Mr. Reeve is too busy on other projects and so it seems to be on the back burner for now.

Now, when I did a search for this info I did notice that all posts were very dated...is the Umfaan any closer to coming out again?

There was a thread here awhile ago, asking that the Umfaan be brought back. It is an awesome little knife!

Chris Reeve is supposed to be introducing two new models before the end of the year. One folder, and one fixed blade. I'm hoping and praying that the folder is the reintroduction of the Umfaan. (I only check thier website twice a day or so.) I've been wanting one of these mini-benzas for years. Scott Dog, I know the feeling of wanting to kick yourself, I saw two at a gun and knife show a couple years ago, I woulda have had to use plastic at the time so I passed. Dumb Dumb Dumb mistake. I don't even have one!

knife sold. I tried to buy it, I bid, but apparently someone ponied up $600 for the buy it now price. ah well time to check the Chris Reeve site again. later gdwtvb

Coulda shoulda woulda. So many times that I have done that. I only ask about the UMFAAN because I love my lefty Sebenza so much and would love to get a hold of the micro version. I have a William Henry SO-5 (?) with G10 scales. It's a nice little gem and even though it's a righty liner-lock, it does not effect left-hand use too much. Still, I would gladly sell it to make funds for an Umfaan. Let's hope it get's reintroduced.

Does anyone have a picture comparison of the Umfaan and Small Sebbie? I love my small but really want a U!
