Hello all -

Curious as to the Damascus pattern here. I want to say it is “Raindrop” patterned.

Not super exposed to Damascus blades pieces so sorry if it is a silly question.

Also, I noticed that birth cards usually say the “type” of pattern. Is that after a certain year of production or is it sporadic.

Did it come with a little packet of grease ?
Looks like it’s B/W raindrop Damascus. It looks like they didn’t include a description on the earlier knives. I’ve got one from 2007 that has the full description

It did yes

And additional papers and a bunch of little things and tools

Back then they offered quite a few varieties of high carbon damascus (which yours appears like it could be) and included rust inhibiting grease - make sure to keep it oiled or use something like Renaissance Wax if this is the case.

Like JAB JAB mentioned, it’s a carbon Damascus. That’s why the grease is included. That’s not a regular finish on the blade. It’s way bolder than other Damascus blades.

That makes sense because in person it is a very dark and bold design compared to many of the other CRK Damascus steels I have seen!

Thank you for the info!
