Hello all. I recently bought a Winkler utility knife with serrations on top of blade. They are not real sharp and didn't know if that's how they are meant to be. Only serrations I've ever owned have been spyderco's. On this knife I can run my finger over them with a little pressure with no ill effects. I've never sharpened serrated knives so I really don't know how to do it.thanks in advance for any help. Rob

Hi mate,

It's meant to made notches on tree branches when making a trap/shelter.(as seen in many survival knives like Glock 78)
The length simply not meant for sawing through branches.

Thank you JG. I thought maybe it was for cutting seatbelt or straping.. I may try to sharpen them a little. Thanks again.

While you could, a double edged knife is not the best to use when cutting near anything you don't want to start bleeding (or bleeding more). If you want to cut straps, get a strap-cutter. If you want to get rid of that Utility knife, ask for my e mail ;)
