Question re Buck 313

I recently acquired a Buck 313. The knife appears to be unused. I was hoping that some of the Buck experts might be able to provide a few more details about this model. From the limited info I have been able to find, the model was introduced in 1972 and production ceased in 1998.

Does anyone know how I tell if this is a Buck or Camillus made knife?

Is there any more precise way of dating the knife as it does not have a year mark?

The knife was described to me as a Muskrat. I had always been under the impression that a Muskrat had two identical blades, similar to the marked one on this knife. However, the second balde on the 313 is a spey style. Is the Muskrat terminology corrrect in this case?

Yep, 313 Muskrat, they actually went out of production in the mid 80's.

All 313's were made by Camillus.

Does yours have a nail cutout on the back side also, or just the front side?

If just the front, it's a second model, if both a third.

Can't figure out how to drag old post up to this thread. Do a post search for "Buck 313" . There is a history of the 313 on a Sept. 08 post.

if you want to read it.................. 300Bucks

Thanks for the info. I found the Sept 08 post and it was very helpful. Mine has no nail nic cutout on the back, so I guess that makes it a 2nd Version, 1974 to 85 period.
