One of the knives I picked up today at the C&E gun/knife show in Charlotte is marked "Knife House Hara". I know this indicates that it came from the House of (Koji) Hara but the dealer could not give any specifics as to the model name, blade steel, or what year(s) it was manufactured since he did not acquire the box or paperwork when he bought the knife. It has Mother of Pearl scales and a modified Wharncliffe blade with a 2 1/4 inch edge on the blade. It is a tip down design with a very elegant and thin clip. I'm going to post a couple of pics (sorry for the so-so quality). If anyone has any info please pass it along. Thanks.

Not that familar with the brand, although they are very nice knives. Jim Parker once did pretty big business with Hara in th 90's. Here's the official website:
www.knifehousehara.com .

Their website was launched in 2001, so maybe that's when the line started.

Thanks for the responses guys, especially you Ivan. So I now know that this particular model is called the "LAKELAND". It has the most beautiful MOP scales I have ever seen in person. I knew I had to have it as soon as I saw it. My drool meter went way off the scale!!

That is a sweet looking knife you got TF! Best of all it has that wharnie blade your hoping to see on the next round of Umfaans. :D

Art I think the Wharnie blade is perfect for a "Gent" knife. I heard at the gun/knife show that a recent news letter from CRK indicated that they were considering developing a model with a Wharncliffe blade. No specifics were mentioned but I hope it will be the Umfaan. Man that would be an awesome knife.

Ok, my turn for a question. Anyone have an idea where I could get a knife from Hara in the US? Man, that knife really is quite something....

Ivan, check out Knifeart or A.G. Russells. I got mine at the Vegas knife show in 2002. It was the Best of Show knife and the action is as smooth as any knife i have ever handled. That adds up to a few!!
