Hey Guys,

After reading so much positive feedback, I ordered 3 Mora's for $15 each including shipping, I figured why not. I bought a Mora Companion Carbon, a Mora Companion Stainless and a Mora Robust (Carbon also). The Companion Stainless and the Robust arrived and were just as expected. However, the Mora Companion Carbon knife appears to be unfinished on the spine. The spine is rough (almost has a line cut along it) and somewhat discolored. Nothing that a file couldn't fix if it bothered me but since I purchased a new knife... I would like to know if this is an imperfection. I know it was only $15 but the other two blades don't have this. Any advice??

Thx in advance.

Looking at my red handled Mora-it is like that on the spine as well. I wouldn't worry- they are great knives!

I believe that is normal for a Mora. I have several carbon versions that are the same. I filed one of mine flat so it would throw more sparks when using a fire steel.

Mora's do come with roughly finished spines unless it's a more expensive model.

If I want higher finish, a diamond stone or a beltsander will cure this.

They are stamped.
They don't finish the spine on some of the models, due to cost.
You can file it flat.

Thanks guys, once again I rely on my knowledgable friends at bladeforums and once again they come through. I just got out and started playing with the moras. They made a very sharp first impression. As long as the tang stays in the handle i will continue to be happy. The stainless one is going in my tacklebox, the robust is going in my glove compartment. And I will just beat up and play with the carbon companion. Not an EDC for me but awesome to have non-the-less.
