I saw an ad in August 2002 blade magazine (page blade/e) for Kershaw's new adonized aluminum Scallion.

It states the lock to be a FRAME LOCK.

I called the 1-800-325-2891 info line to confirm that they changed the original scallion's liner lock to a frame lock.

The person who answered, checked and said "we have not changed the lock, it is the same one we always had for the scallion, a frame lock."

This was not a satisfactory answer, as if they did NOT change the lock, it is a liner lock, not a frame lock.

Did anyone who went to the Blade show see this knife to confirm what lock is in this knife?

Sorry to be so long winded.

I handled this knife at the Blade Show and it is indeed a Liner Lock same as the old one. The Chive OTOH, is a Frame Lock. Maybe they were confused. The finish on the new Scallion looks awesome and it looks to be very durable. I plan on getting one in red when they come out in Sept.

I checked out a Chive in Walmart today, and I've got to say that I'm glad they kept the Scallion as a liner-lock.
The Chive frame-lock just did'nt impress me at all.

Good luck,
Allen.
