I've been contemplating buying one of these. From what I have been able to determine, the springs are set up like a whittler: split for the small blades and combined for the main. Does anyone have a picture of one of these that they would share?

I'm assuming you're looking at the File and Wire series:

Here is a link for that piece at Cumberland (a great place to do business): http://www.cumberlandknifeworks.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=file_wire&keywords=&next=3

This is a fine knife; very solid with the main blade working off both springs.

One comment: Be prepared to spend some time with your favorite sharpener to get the edge where you want it. I sort of like that; the blade is in "neutral" condition allowing you to personalize the edge.

I went on to buy the English Jack, based on the Wildcat.

Best regards.

Here are a couple of pics for you...Good luck, hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine...
