Question re: SAKs w/flash memory

Just curious about anyone's experience with the SAK models w/flash memory.

It seems like a great idea, but I have reservations about have an electronic device (flash memory) permanently attached to a tool that at times may get damp or need to be washed and cleaned on occasion.

I don't personally own one but I have read enough about them on both forums and other places online to know that the USB Memory module is detachable...this would eliminate the worry about moisture and taking it on a commercial airliner.
