Schrade made an SC-506 Barlow with a scrimshaw design of a Band Leader or Drum Major on one side. Anyone know the significance of this design, what it was called, who it was made for or what it represented? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks much.

I've not seen it, but they did make special art scrims for local fundraisers and celebrations in Ellenville/Wawarsing. There were Fourth Of July and Christmas themes that I remember. Usually they were produced in very small numbers.

Thanks Codger. I've only ever seen pics of a few over the years online. Kind of an odd design not knowing the story behind it or what it was produced for... Perhaps somewhere down the line someone will know something in regards to it.

Save a picture of it next time you see one and post it here. Occasionally some former Schrade employees or their relatives drop by.

Did some digging on-line and finally found one. The image isn't all that clear but it's the bottom knife.

From what I can see of the drawing, it is rather "juvenile". I've never seen it before.
