I have an assegai thrusting short spear with a SK-5 medium carbon steel blade. What does the SK-5 designation mean? Could someone tell me whatever they may know about this type of steel? Also, the blade has a black coating. What is the coating composed of, and how would you recommend taking care of the blade without damaging it?
