Question re: Spec-Ops Survival Sheath

Hi folks,

I have a Spec-Ops brand survival sheath, which serves as home for my favorite outdoors knife. The knife has a black G-10 handle.

I am a huge fan of the sheath, but one feature is causing me some issues: The metal surface of the lower button on the retention strap has the tendency to nick, scratch, scuff, or otherwise imprint on the handle of my knife. It isn't damaging the functionality of the knife at all, of course, but it does look a bit unsightly, as scratches on G-10 are really obvious.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what was your solution?

I am thinking that a small square of felt or nylon epoxied to the underside of the button might work.

Suggestions are welcome!

All the best,

- Mike

find some moleskin at your local drug store. It's used to help foot blisters but it's a tough and very sticky on one side and would work great for what you want. It's quite soft and won't leave sticky crud on your handle as it ages.

Wow, thanks!

I have moleskin in my PSK, but I had never thought to use it for this. It should be perfect.

Problem solved, I hope!

All the best,

- Mike
