Has anyone ever had to deal with the handle screws on a production SMF? The nut (the back to the screw/bolt) sits in a round hole and the nut itself is also round. Normally, the nut would be hex and the hole it sits in would be a matching hex so it doesn't turn.
These nuts have some knurling on them and cuts that indicate it's supposed to expand like a drywall screw (expanding increasingly as you screw), but these don't expand and just turn in place.
I could superglue or locktite the nut in place and it would work perfectly. Especially because it's only 1 of 4 that hold the handle together. But I hate band-aid jerry rigging and would prefer a solid actual solution.
Anyone deal with this before? Or does anyone have a spare nut with good knurling I can buy or know where I could get one? I tried contacting Mick Strider a few times but haven't received a response. I also heard that they closed the company down.
