I have a new ZT 350. While I don't expect to beat on it (fixed blades are a better bet for that), it is meant to be a "hard use" folder. The lockup on my knife is less than 50%. More like roughly 35% with no blade play in any dimension. I'm wondering what y'all think is reasonable for this knife? Just fyi - if I push the lock bar (if that's what it's called) fairly gently, it will move to 50%. It's almost like a tiny burr keeps it from moving itself fully when opening - make sense?

Thanks

Mine started at like 25-30% and is now settled at a comfortable 50-55% after about 4 weeks of use and "fondling".
So I guess it just needs some time to break-in, at least mine did.

On my user 0350, the lock was at 50% from day one. Like yours, I was unable to muscle any movement out of the blade in any direction. It's one of the knives that I've used for long periods and feel comfortable enough that the lock won't slip. I really like the handful design and the one I have has great fit and finish.

I thought that early lock up was desirable. At least that's what I hear people say. I don't know, as I don't own many liner locks.

Consistency is more important than percentage. If your lock is consistent at whatever percentage you perceive is safe and locked, then there is nothing to concern yourself with. It's more of a problem on poorly made knives, this would not be one of those. Desirability of early lock up is one thing and desirability of solid, reliable, and consistent lock up is quite another. Also, always take what you hear "people" saying with a grain of salt, the people that know the least always seem to know it the loudest.
