Question regarding 2 case knives

I have 2 of the same Case knives just different years. The blade is really different on one of them I was just curious if the shorter blade one is stock or been reground that way?

The Lg-shield, lightning SS one looks like it's been sharpened way down, it's almost like the belly's been sharpened clean out of it.

Compared to the tragic grinder jobs we often see on older knives, that one is actually quite cleanly done.
